Edit PDF (text/annotate)

Edit a PDF: add text and highlights, or place images, rectangles and freehand strokes on a page preview, then download the edited PDF.

Files you choose stay on your device — they are not uploaded to Tools99.

How this workspace works
  1. Choose a PDF file.
  2. Add text or highlights by typing coordinates, or place images, rectangles and freehand strokes on the page preview.
  3. Download the edited PDF and check the edited pages.

Place items visually on a page preview

Click or drag on the preview to place an image, a rectangle, or a freehand stroke. This only adds content on top of the page — it does not edit existing PDF text, and it does not work on rotated pages: neither visual nor typed-coordinate items can be placed on a rotated page, so rotate the page first with Rotate PDF. The typed-coordinate items above remain the keyboard alternative on unrotated pages.

Choose a PDF first — the page preview appears after your file is added.

Your file never left this device, so there is no server copy to delete. Download again, start over, or continue with a related tool below.

How to use Edit PDF (text/annotate)

A good use for this

Adding a note, a correction, or a highlight to a PDF without opening a full document editor.

Limits

You edit by adding items on top of the page — the tool does not re-flow the PDF's original text, so existing paragraphs cannot be rewritten as in a word processor. Visual placement does not work on rotated pages.
