  2. Convert it in your browser.
  3. Download the MP3 and play it to confirm it is the audio you wanted.

Extracts the audio from a video file and downloads it as a real MP3 (128 kb/s). The picture is not kept — this tool keeps sound only. It decodes the video's audio track in your browser with the video engine (ffmpeg); if that engine cannot load, it falls back to the browser audio decoder. A video with no sound track has no audio to extract, so it cannot produce an MP3.

Your file never left this device, so there is no server copy to delete. Download again, start over, or continue with a related tool below.

How to use MP4 to MP3

  1. Choose a video file of your own.
  2. Convert it in your browser.
  3. Download the MP3 and play it to confirm it is the audio you wanted.

A good use for this

Keeping just the sound from a video — a lecture, an interview, or music you recorded yourself.

Limits

Only the audio is kept; the picture is discarded, and the MP3 is encoded at 128 kb/s. Only convert videos you own or have the right to convert — this tool never downloads from video sites.
